As you plan for virtual learning with your students, please note that Canvas is our districtwide learning management system (LMS)! Canvas offers teachers a streamlined, intuitive experience for connecting students to assignments, digital tools, content, and assessments. The Office of Innovation has created a helpful resource for teachers to have on hand as they continue learning online for our students. Please see below. These links allow for independent, on-demand support for teachers who are just now learning Canvas or those who might need a refresher.


Zoom

Zoom
Zoom is a great tool to use along with Canvas. The district is providing you with upgraded access and you may use this with your free Zoom account. It is a very easy-to-use tool for video conferencing with individuals, small groups or a whole class!


Powerschool

Powerschool Parent/Student Portal
Powerschool is the student information system used by Hamilton County Schools. It is a web- based platform that allows parents and students to log-into a secure account from home, school or work; access real-time assignments, grades and attendance; request reports; email teachers; and more.


ClassDojo - (Grades K-2)

ClassDojo
ClassDojo is a visually appealing instructional platform used in HCS for PreK-2 students. It is a highly engaging, motivating tool that allows students to develop strong classroom and virtual learning independence. The teacher can communicate both with families and students, and students can login and submit assignments without the need to type and/or read. Young learners stay engaged and motivated with ClassDojo, which builds strong classroom and school wide communities between the students, their families, and teachers.

Google Classroom

Flipgrid

Flipgrid
Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called "topics," and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display.

Nearpod is an instructional platform that merges formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences.

ClassLink Single Sign-on gives students and staff instant access to all their online resources from any device. Educators don’t have to worry whether or not their students can access everything they need to continue learning from home.

Students can practice math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Khan Academy’s math missions can guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps.
