Today, "I am Hamilton," spotlights Cindy Pointer, a physical education teacher at Red Bank Elementary. We thought it appropriate to close out Teacher Appreciation Week with a focus on a teacher with our special shirt presentation. Pointer has been at Red Bank for 33 years and is treasured by the children, their parents, the school staff, and the community.
"I am Hamilton" spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members in providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community.
"Cindy Pointer is a rock at RBE, and every student (and most parents) know who she is and have a good relationship with her," wrote Christie Crowe, a counselor at Red Bank Elementary, in her nomination. "Cindy strives hard to know every student in the school, and she is pretty much every student's "go-to" person at the school."
Pointer is known to go above and beyond at Red Bank Elementary in everything that she does for the schools. She arrives at school early every morning to direct car rider traffic and stays late every afternoon to once again direct car rider traffic to get parents and students safely on their way home. She can regularly be seen setting up and taking down what is needed to make every single event the school hosts at night a success.
"Cindy truly makes a big impact on RBES daily, Crowe added. "We love her so much!"
