Free ACT test prep offered to seniors this spring
Posted on 03/04/2019
Hamilton County Schools is providing the opportunity for seniors to get a free online ACT preparation course to help boost scores for the Class of 2019 getting ready for graduation and entering college in the fall. Seniors who register by March 8, 2019, for the April 13, 2019, ACT national test date will be offered a free online seat in the On To College ACT Prep Course. The course is valued at $150 for a student signing up independently.

“We know increasing an ACT score can bring additional opportunities for scholarships and college entrance for our seniors,” said Dr. Bryan Johnson, superintendent of Hamilton County Schools. “Research also indicates that students who take the test more than once can increase their score by as much as 2 points, so we hope our seniors take advantage of this opportunity to retest and participate in the OnToCollege.com preparation program to increase their score even more.”

Advantages of improving the ACT score include not having to take remedial courses at a community college if the student's score is higher than 19 and qualifying for the Hope Scholarship for those with a score of 21 or higher. To participate in the free online ACT prep, a student must be a senior in Hamilton County Schools.

Steps to qualifying for the free ACT prep course:
Register to take the April ACT administration by the March 8, 2019 deadline
• After the student has registered for the test, register for access to the free On To College prep course provided by Hamilton County School at OnToCollege.com.
• By March 15, 2019, you will receive the next steps from Hamilton County Schools

Some students may be eligible for ACT Fee Waivers. If you believe your student is eligible, contact your students’ school counselor for support with this waiver application.
