Nolan Elementary School was honored Chattanooga, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2023) -- Nolan Elementary School was honored as a National Blue Ribbon School on September 18.

353 schools were recognized across the country as National Blue Ribbon
Schools for closing educational gaps or overall academic performance.

Nolan Elementary was one of six schools in Tennessee that received this prestigious recognition.
“I am extremely proud of the Nolan School community,” said Ashley Aldridge Wilson, Nolan Elementary School Principal. “Over the past six years, it has been a complete joy to see Nolan students grow their academic achievement from a success rate of 68% in 2018 to 88% in 2023 on TCAP. The sky is the limit for what our knights will continue to achieve with dynamic teachers and staff, dedicated parents, and a community that continually rallies around the schoolhouse! Congratulations knights on this tremendous honor!”

The National Blue Ribbon School designation recognizes the work of teachers, students, families, and community partners in creating safe and welcoming school environments. The award has been presented for 40 years and has been awarded approximately 10,000 times to more than 9,700 schools.

Nolan was honored as an Exemplary High-Performing School, which means it is among the state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.
